Germany. Refugees hoping to register their presence in Berlin.

Germany, Berlin, October 05, 2015, Two refugees are fighting each other in front of the LaGeSo.

Most refugees outside the “LaGeSo” are from Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq and Iran, as well as the Balkan states.

Early in the morning, long lines of refugees form outside Berlin’s Department for Health and Social Affairs Office (nicknamed “LaGeSo”), hoping to register their presence and start the challenging process of finding a home, work and in many cases, a school for their kids. Adjusting to Germany’s culture and language, and dealing with homesickness and the psychological trauma of living for years in war is difficult.
